Конференция для учителей английского языка (май 2011 года)

17 мая 2011 года Издательство Кембриджского университета, Самарская областная общественная организация преподавателей английского языка, Самарская областная универсальная научная библиотека и авторизированный центр по приему Кембриджских экзаменов «Language Assistant» организовал мини-конференцию для учителей английского языка по теме «Современные методы обучения и оценивания учебных достижений младших школьников».

В работе круглого стола и конференции принимал участие специалист из Великобритании, автор УМК по подготовке учащихся младших классов к Кембриджским экзаменам для детей 'Fun for Starters', 'Fun for Movers', 'Fun for Flyers'.

Участники круглого стола обсуждали вопросы по подготовке младших школьников к Кембриджским экзаменам, обменивались опытом и просматривали видеоролики, где были представлены отрывки их занятий. Программа конференции в Областной библиотеке включала следующее:

Anne Robinson

Anne has been involved in the Cambridge ESOL Young Learners' Examinations since before their launch in 1997, piloting the Tests and administering them in numerous venues in her region each year.  She has also written seminars and web material for Cambridge ESOL.  Anne is an Oral Examiner for all levels of the Cambridge ESOL exams.

Anne is the author of Fun for Starters, Movers and Flyers First Edition (CUP) and co-author of the Second Edition of Fun for Starters, Movers and Flyers with Karen Saxby.  She is a regular speaker at international conferences and enjoys the contact with teachers and their feedback on her materials and ideas.

About the seminars.

Take a picture

Pictures are used in the coursebooks we use and feature prominently in the Cambridge ESOL Young Learners English Tests.  In the classroom, we can use pictures for a huge number of activities and games, and, at the same time, develop our students’ language skills and range.

In this session, we will try out some picture activities and we will discuss how to help our students notice and think about the contents of pictures.

As teachers, we aim to ensure that our students learn things that will be useful and interesting to them now and in the future.

• What kind of knowledge can young learners acquire?

• What kind of things can we tell students of this age about the English language?  What things should we train them to do or not do when taking the Cambridge ESOL YLE tests?

This session will consider these issues among others.  Come along and try out some activities (from Fun for Starters, Movers and Flyers)!  Anne will share her experiences of teaching, training and examining students for the Cambridge YLE tests and pass on some tips and activities for you to share with your students.
